Eggless Orange cake



Have you heard about cake made of orange juice. Few people know about orange cake and some may make simple vanilla cake or chocolate cake by adding orange juice. The divine taste and aroma of orange juice  makes everything extraordinary.



Last year I made orange cupcakes , that too without adding eggs. That was super fluffy and moist. This time I am making such a cake that carries a  citrus flavor which is made with orange reduction. The orange zest added with it give a naughty flavor to the cake.



This cake is completely egg less. But adding egg in cakes make the cakes more moist and light. So if you want to add egg, one egg can be added in place of curd. I have-not added because my little one has allergy to egg.

  1. Boil orange juice with 4 tbsp of castor sugar till it reduces to half.
  2. Let it be cool completely.
  3. Grease a 6” tin with oil or butter, set aside.
  4. Sieve flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder together.
  5. Sieve it at least for 3 times .
  6. In a mixing bowl combine brown sugar and oil.
  7. Beat it using a electric beater till both things combine well.
  8. Add curd, orange essence and beat for 1 minute more.
  9. Add orange zest and fold with a spatula.
  10. Add dry ingredients in batches and fold with a spatula.
  11. Add milk if the batter seems too thick.
  12. Pour this batter in a greased baking tin.
  13. Tap the tin and bake for 30-40 minutes till toothpick comes out clean.
Recipe Notes


  • If you don't have cake flour then mix a tbsp of cornflour with a cup of all purpose flour.
  • if you want to replace curd then add 1 egg instead.
