I know its too late and deewali is already over. I made this dish for deewali celebration at home but due to some reason I forgot to post .
this dessert can be made anytime on any occasion. This is really very easy to make and also delicious in taste.this makes a great ending to a festival meal.
This is a new twist with apple ,its looks delicious and its an absolutely delightful treat.
Well said by someone, one apple a day keeps the doctor away.why not- as apples are healthy .
The apple slices are coated in flavoued flour and then deep fried .then soaked in sugar syrup for sometime and served with honey , cinnamon powder.
The crispy apple wraffers are dipped in sugar syrup to get a golden shine . the honey and cinnamon powder on top enhance the looks and taste.
The best thing is you can make it and have it at anytime .this dish also can be served with rabri as an accompaniment.you can serve it as warm or chilled .
I don’t know why I named this dish as golden apple fritters ..but when I thought to share it with my viewer only then this name came to my mind.
For apple rings :
Apple – 2 no
Cornflour – ½ cup
Cinnamon powder – 1 tsp
Salt – a pinch
Oil – for deep frying
For sugar syrup :
Sugar – ¾ th cup
Water – ¼ th cup
Lemon juice – 1/4th tsp
For serving :
Honey – 5 to 6 tbsp
Cinnamon powder – 2 tsp
Cardamom powder – 1/4th tsp
Chopped Dry fruits – few
METHOD OF PREPARATION ::
Wash and peel the apple well.
Then using a peeler carefully take out the center portion so that apple stays whole .
Then cut into round slices.
In a bowl mix cornflour , salt and cinnamon powder.
Smear the apple slices into the flavored flour.
In the mean time prepare sugar syrup .Mix sugar and water in a oan and bring it to boil.
Add lemon juice to the boiling mixture and continue boiling it.
make 1 string sugar syrup.keep aside.
Heat oil in a wide pan.
When oil is hot deep fry the apple slices coated in flour.
Keep the flame medium.deep fry till the apple slices turn crispy.
Take it out and keep it in a plate.
Soak the deep fried apple slices in sugar syrup for 5 minuets then shift to serving plates.
Pour honey on each apple piece and sprinkle cinnamon powder on top.
Add chopped dry fruits of your choice and serve.
- i found coating the apple rings in dry flour is good for deep frying.
- but if you want to make batter then it will be perfectly ok.
- lemon juice used in sugar syrup is optional.its used to make the sugar syrup clear.
- any dry fruit can be used for garnishing.e used some of tutti fruti for garnishing.
