Sweet Apple Tarts

 

Carbohydrate or carb is a major macronutrient and one of our body’s primary source energy. Carbs are an energy source in food that comes from stratch, sugar and cellulose.

 

 

Complex carbohydrates are found in foods such as peas, beans, whole grains, and vegetables. Both simple and complex carbohydrates are turned to glucose (blood sugar) in the body and are used as energy.

 

 

Complex carbohydrates are key to long-term health. They make it easier to maintain your weight, make you feel goood and improve stamina.

Here I made sweet apple tart using whole wheat as a tart base and apple as a filling.this is not a perfect recipe for diet control peopleeven though it cointains two imporatnt ingredients which cointain complex carb.

 

 

The tart is made of whole wheat flour, baking powder and is baking soda free. The filling is made with apple and condensed milk with a dash of cinnamon and cardamom powder.

Instructions
  1. FOR STUFFING :: Peel the apples and chop into very fine pieces. Melt butter in a pan ,add chopped apple. Soute for a minute then cover it for 2 minutes. Add sugar and Keep stirring continuously till sugar melts. Add powdered cardamom and cinnamon . Cook till all water evaporate . Remove from flame cool it add condense milk and keep aside.
  2. TART :: First grind the sugar but not into very fine.. Sieve the flour add butter.Rub it with your finger tips until it seems like breadcrumbs. Add powdered sugar and mix using your palm. Add cold water and knead into a dough..
  3. Preheat the oven @200c for 10mints.. Roll the doigh into a circle , like a chapatti. Cut using a medium cutter and set into patty tins (i used silicon one). Prick the inside of the tarts.
  4. Pour the apple mixture till 3/4th of the tart. Sprinkle powdered cinnamon on top and bake it for 20-25minutes.
  5. mine was ready within 20 minutes. Cool it and enjoy !!
