Sfouf – Lebanese Semolina Turmeric cake
All purpose flour
Ghee / OIl

1 tbsp + 1/2
preheat the oven at 180c for 10 minutes.
Grease two 7”cake tin and dust with flour. keep them aside.
In a wide bowl combine all the dry ingredients and whisk once.
Make a well in center and pour milk and Ghee .
Whisk well and pour into prepared cake tin.
Tap the tins and place blanched almonds cut into half.
Bake at 180.c for 40-45 minutes till toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool the cake completely before inverting into wire rack.
Cut into desired shape and enjoy !!!!
If you dont want to use milk add water instead.
Ghee can be replaced with Butter or any vegetable oil, i insist to use oil.
Few use Tahini paste to grease the cake tin.
Instaed of almonds use pine nuts.
Always use fine rawa.
If you have then must add a tsp of orange blossom water and 1/4th tsp of cardamom powder.
use 9″ square tin instead of two 7″ round cake tin.
