This sweet, tangy, crisp plum crumble can be made with the delicious ripe plum or semi ripen plums. The best thing is that instead of plum you can take fresh cherries .both tastes yum.

 

Easy to make plum crumble, is always a great dessert after finishing the dinner. It’s the best way to use leftover plums that laying at your refrigerator . plum crumble isn’t only warm but always comforting.

 

 

This warm , delicious plum crumble is beautifully placed in a tart base. This is popularly known as plum crumble tart. It has all the deliciousness that you expect from plums. If you don’t want to make tart then simply place the filling and the crumble in a ceramic pie dish and simply bake it. it can be served with a scoop of ice cream, drizzled with chocolate/ caramel sauce.

Instructions

  1. Place the flour in a large ,wide mixing bowl .
  2. Add cold , diced butter and rub into flour using the tips of your fingers. Until the mixture resembles like bread crumbs.
  3. Stir the mixture through the sugar.
  4. Add cold water and knead into a dough.
  5. Add water as necessary and make a soft but non sticky dough.
  6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface, place the dough onto a 6” tart tin, trimming away excess.
  7. Prick the entire tart.
filling ::
  1. Toss the sliced plums in corn flour , vanilla and sugar .
  2. Arrange the plums inside the prepared tart base.
  3. Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 180’c.
For crumble ::
  1. In a wide bowl combine flour, oat and cinnamon powder.
  2. Add butter and rub using fingertips.
  3. When they resembles like bread crumbs , stir the mixture with brown sugar.
  4. Crumble this mixture over the arranged plums.
  5. Place the tart tin on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake at preheated oven for 45 minutes, until the top seems light brown in colour.
  7. Cool it. cut into slices and serve with scoop of ice-cream of whipping cream.
