Ingredients
for pal pongal :

Instructions
  1. In a 3 liter pressure cooker add pre soaked rice, soaked moong dal and 3 cups of milk.
  2. Pressure cook for 5 whistles on high flame.
  3. Mean while warm up 2 cups of milk and mix milk powder in it.
  4. Open the cooker and mash all the contents.
  5. Divide into two parts.
  6. In one portion add milk mixed with milk powder ,salt, fried cashew nut, raisins and half of ghee.
  7. Mix well and Pal Pongal is ready to serve.
  8. In another portion add 1 cup of milk, powder jaggery ,rest of ghee and nuts.
  9. Mix well and sakkarai pongal is ready to serve.
  10. Enjoy both the pongal recipes in very less time and putting very less effort.
Recipe Notes
  • you can lightly roast moong dal, but it is optional.
  • Instead of powder jaggery you can melt jaggery and mix with mashed pongal.
  • If you want to make sakkarai pongal to be more watery then add more half cup of milk.
  • Dont reduce the quantity of ghee.
  • milk powder is used here to give a rich taste to pal pongal, it can be skipped.
  • instead of milk powder khoya , grated paneer can be used.
