Nutella cottage cheese peda

Do you Love sondesh !!! Then you will definitely love this one …sondesh  is a delicious sweet dish from bengal .These sondesh can be shaped into various types and can be of various flavours .

The sondesh that i ve made ,are of chocolate flavor sondesh .i ve used nutella for chocolatey flavour ,shaped like indian peda and filled with hershey chocolate sauce.

INGREDIENTS ::

Full fat milk – 1 & 1/2 lit
Condensed milk – 100 gram
Sugar –  2 tbsp
Nutella – 4 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 1/4th tsp
Drinking chocolate powder – 2 tsp
Hershey chocolate sauce – for filling
Lemon juice – 1 to 2 tbsp

 

METHOD OF PREPARATION ::

First of all we need to make fresh cottage cheese or chenna from milk.
So in a heavy bottom pan boil milk
Dont forget to stir continuously which will prevent the milk from burn.

When the milk boils properly switch off the flame and add lemon juice stir once and leave it for few minutes.
In the mean time line a colander with  a cheesecloth to strain the chenna.

When you notice the milk cuddle and the whey begins to separate,
add few ice cubes to prevent harden the chenna.

Immediately strain the chenna and wash under running water  .
Make a knot and squeeze the water as much as possible and tie it for 10-15 minutes.

After 15 minutes transfer the chenna on to a clean plate or you can knead on the kitchen counter.knead the chenna till turns soft .
In a pan preferably non stick add condense milk and nutella ,cook for sometime in low flame.
When condense milk and nutella mix well together add cardamom powder and sugar.

Stir once ,add kneaded chenna.
Mix nicely.
Keep stirring till the mixture form like a dough , add drinking chocolate powder and give a nice mix.
Mix for 1 minute more and switch off the flame.

Let the mixture cool a bit.
Apply oil in your palm and take a lemon size ball and make round shape.
Slightly flatten the balls and make a hole in the centre.

Repeat with rest of the chenna mixture.

Fill the center with chocolate syrup with the help of a spoon and serve..

NOTES ::

You can give any shape and also can skip adding chocolate syrup in the center.
I ve added the chocolate syrup for more chocolaty taste and its looks good .

Homemade condensed milk also can be used .check out my homemade condensed milk for easy and cheap replacement.

In case of drinking chocolate power cocoa powder can be used.
