JACKFRUIT 65

 

Wanna something new and lip smacking dish with jack fruit. Then your wait is over. Never thought jack fruit in a new avtar. Lol…. I am really happy with this dish.. the jackfruit pieces come out very soft and yummy.. ahhh… I cant forget the taste. There are several dishes which can be made with jackfruit, and no doubt jackfruit manchurian and chilli jack fruit is also being popular nowadays. But think about govi 65, chicken 65, how yummy the dishes are. Same like jack fruit 65, only for those who loves to have jackfruit.and those who doesn’t love jack fruit, simply replace it with govi, paneer and mushroom.

 

 

INGREDIENTS ::

For marinating ::

Jack fruit – 2 cups

Rice flour – 2 tbsp

Corn flour – 2tbsp

Rice flour – 2 tbsp

Thick curd – 2 tbsp

Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp

Soya sauce – 1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp

Freshly made pepper powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1/8 th tsp

Lime juice – 1 tsp

Salt – to taste

 

For tempering ::

Curry leaves – 2 spring

Onion – a small

Green chillies( slited) – 4 no

Garlic – 6 pods

Diced capsicum – 1/4th pc (optional)

Chilli powder – ½ tsp

Oil – for deep frying

 

METHOD OF PREP :

Simply pressure cook jackfruit with salt , turmeric and little water for 1 whistle , strain and cool it .

In a bowl take all the ingredients listed under marination .

Add water to make a thick batter.

Add the cooked jackfruit pieces and mix well, so that the marinade will coat the jackfruit pieces.

Rest it for 1-2 hour.

 

Finely chop the onion and garlic.

Slit the green chillies.

Now in a wide pan heat enough oil .

When oil is hot,add the marinated jackfruit pieces and deep fry it till it turns golden brown.

Remove the jackfruit pieces in a absorbent paper.

In a pan heat 2 tbsp of oil add add chopped onion , garlic.

Sauté it for a minute, add curry leaves, green chillies.

Stir once add chilli powder.

Add the fried jackfruit pieces and toss with the tempering.

Tadaa… !!! its done.
