Creme caramel or flan ,many called this  caramel pudding too. it is the easiest dessert which is served as  hot or cold .its a pudding with a hard caramel top.The texture of this dish is so magnificent and extremely yummy.

This caramel glazed ,mirror shine desert is comforting and elegant dessert.

only 3 basic ingredients and just 30 minutes,abd the supereasy dessert is ready to serve. If you have 3-4 eggs ,milk and sugar then you can make this anytime and any where. Any flavor can be used in to make it more tasty and yummy. And the most interesting part is this dish can be given to babies when you are introducing solids to them.  This dessert can be baked, can be prepare in microwave and can be steamed.

I ve used  custard powder and a little coffee powder to make the dessert more naughty and tasty.i am sure you’r gonna to make this dessert again and again. And each time you will serve every time people gonna to love it.

INGREDIENTS ::

Milk – ½ lit

Eggs – 3 no

Sugar – 3 tbsp

Condensed milk – 4 tbsp

Custard powder – 1 ½ tbsp (i used vanilla flavor but chocolate flavor will tastes best )

Coffee – 3 tsp

Vanilla essence –  ¼ th tsp

Lemon rind – a little

 

For caramelizing –

Sugar – ¼ th cup

Water – 1 tbsp

 

METHOD OF PREPARATION ::

Take a baking tin ,pour sugar and water (listed under caramelizing), keep it on gas flame on low heat.

Wait till sugar started to melt .As soon as it starts bubbling and changes the colour, take it out of the heat, swirl it around so that the caramel spreads the entire tin.keep it aside.

Or else you can melt the sugar in a pan and spread it on cake tin.

In a heavy bottom pan add milk and  boil it while stirring it continuously.

When milk is warm take out little milk and mix it with custard powder and keep aside.

Boil the remaining milk for 3-4  minutes.

Preheat the oven at 180c for 10 minutes.

In the mean time break the eggs and keep it in a bowl .add vanilla essence and lemon rind sugar and beat it lightly.

Take out little more milk from boiling milk and mix it with coffee powder .keep it aside for further use.

In the boiling milk add custard powder, coffee mixture and condensed milk.

stir once and add beaten eggs too.

Let it boil for 1 minute and switch off the flame.

Pour it on the prepared caramel.

Bake it at preheated oven for 30-40 minutes.

Remember every oven is different and baking time may vary

So Take it out when top will turn brown.or else insert a knife or toothpick it should comes out clean.its a symbol that flan is done.

Allow it to cool. With a butter knife loosen the edges.

Take a serving plate, place it on the tin and turn the tin upside down. Give a pat on the bottom of the tin and carefully take out the tin.

Serve it.

HOW TO STEAM IT ::

take a pressure cooker or steamer.

pour 2 glasses of water and put a stand on the center.

cover the flan tin with a aluminium foil and carefully place the tin on the stand.

close the steamer or lid of the cooker. but do not forget to remove the whistle (if using pressure cooker ).

steam it for 30 minutes. and rest it for 10 minutes after switch off the flame.

carefully take out the tin with the help of a  tong .

and follow the rest of the steps for serving.
